FNCCI Hosts Multinational CEOs To Luncheon: Navigating Disruption for Growth

Chief Executive Officers of Multinational cooperation under the umbrella of the Franco-Nigeria business ecosystem gathered at the Sky restaurant of EKO Hotel for the third series of the annual CEO LAUNCHEON put together with partnership with KPMG Nigeria.

The third series which was tagged “DISRUPTION VS GROWTH: The role of the modern CEO”,  was attended by over 70 CEOs and board members of multinational cooperation cutting across all sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Mr. Umoru Moses, Director General of Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI) in his opening address commended KPMG for partnering with the chamber for this laudable initiative while stating the importance of the gathering. He said “bringing CEOs together under such platform gives a chance for idea sharing and inside gaining which is key to organizational growth and development. The theme DISRUPTION VS GROWTH ,considering the impact of the geopolitical environment, Russia-Ukraine crisis and supply chain problems, and how it affects businesses, could not have come at a better time”.

The Consul General designate of France in Nigeria, Mr. Laurent Favier, in his welcome address commended the Chamber of commerce for the event while stating his commitment towards enhancing France-Nigeria business relationship. In his comment, team France which is the combination of the economic service of the French embassy, the Business France, the FNCCI, Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and PROPARCO are committed and also work hand in hand in enhancing Nigeria’s bilateral relationship with France which Nigeria ranks as Number one trade partner in the Sub-Saharan African Region.

Furthermore, Mr Tola Adeyemi,  the Chairman of KPMG Africa and National Senior Partner Nigeria, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of customer-centricity during disruptions. He stated it is important for multi-national cooperation to focus on customer needs and indulge simplicity in providing services in today’s world. Furthermore, he proceeded advising that investing in innovation, creating an environment for idea sharing within an organization, embracing technology, leveraging partnership, actively seeking to disrupt your business and building a strong team is crucial to organizational survival during disruption.

In conclusion, The CEOs of Schneider Electric, UBA, ACCES BANK PLC, ZENITH BANK PLC, ASHGROVE ENEREGY amongst others gave their feedbacks as to their experience in Nigeria in the cause of the discussion.

The President of the Chamber , represented by Mr Guillaume Niarfeix, The CEO of SPIE Nigeria Limited , stated that the Chamber continues to create impact and promote France Nigeria business relationship , stating that this signature event that started in 2021 is a testament to the Chamber’s commitment to the growth of its over 400 members.
