Building Capacity and Stronger Business Ties: Franco-Nigerian Chamber Marks Milestone With Successful Inaugural Paris Leadership Training and Business Mission.

The Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI) has successfully completed its inaugural Executive Paris Leadership Training Program and Business Mission, establishing a significant step forward in the advancement of business leadership, international collaboration, sustainability, and economic diplomacy in France and Nigeria.

The week-long executive mission took place in Paris, France, from 7 to 13 June 2026, and brought together key Nigerian corporate leaders from fintech, energy, oil and gas, maritime services, hospitality, and enterprise development. The initiative, organised in collaboration with Bodik France and certified by Paris Graduate School, provided participants with access to world-class executive education, strategic networking opportunities, and direct engagement with major institutions driving economic cooperation between Europe and Africa.

Under the theme “Advancing Sustainability Through Innovation: Project Funding, Digital Transformation, and Resilience”, the program addressed some of the most pressing and transformative issues confronting modern businesses, providing delegates with valuable insights into leadership, artificial intelligence, sustainability strategies, investment readiness, and organisational resilience.

A Timely Response To Global Business Transformation

The global business landscape is changing at an unprecedented rate. Companies across industries are dealing with disruptive technological breakthroughs, economic uncertainties, shifting customer expectations, geopolitical conflicts, and growing demands for sustainability.

Against this context, the FNCCI Paris Leadership Training Program arose as a timely and strategic program meant to provide Nigerian executives with the tools they need to survive in a fast-changing world.

Participants took part in intensive executive learning sessions centred on leadership excellence, organisational change, digital innovation, project financing, and future-ready company strategies. The seminar focused on practical solutions for handling complicated issues and recognising emerging possibilities in foreign markets.

Industry analysts remarked that today’s corporate executives must have more than just operational knowledge. They must also cultivate the agility, resilience, and global perspective required to guide organisations through times of volatility and turbulence. The Paris program addressed these facts directly, providing participants with concrete knowledge that they could immediately apply in their organisations.

As part of the mission, delegates participated in a series of high-level engagements with organisations and institutions, including:

One of the most effective aspects of the program was its emphasis on leadership transformation.

As organisations face more instability and disruption, leadership has emerged as one of the most important variables in determining long-term commercial success. Delegates discussed ways for leading high-performing teams, managing organisational change, encouraging innovation, and creating long-term corporate cultures. The talks focused on how visionary leadership can turn obstacles into opportunities and position businesses for long-term growth.

Participants looked at real-world applications of artificial intelligence in industries such financial technology, logistics, energy management, customer service, manufacturing, and data analytics.

Futhermore, another key objective of the Paris mission was sustainability. Global investors, governments, regulators, and consumers are all demanding more responsible corporate practices that prioritise environmental stewardship, social impact, and long-term wealth development. The program focused on practical techniques for incorporating sustainability into business operations while generating verifiable economic value.

Participants learnt about rising global trends, sustainability frameworks, climate-conscious corporate models, and the growing importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance standards for attracting investment and ensuring long-term growth.

Access to financing remains one of the most critical issues for many African businesses. Recognising this fact, the program presented participants with information about international finance methods, investor expectations, funding structures, and techniques for producing bankable projects.

These workshops provided many attendees with practical knowledge that might have a direct influence on their ability to get finance for expansion plans, infrastructure projects, technological improvements, and sustainability programs.

Strengthening Franco-Nigerian Economic Relations

Distinguished facilitators Marie-Noële Schwartzmann and Idowu Ajayi oversaw the program’s instructional component, enriching the learning experience with their expertise and practical experience. Participants learned about global best practices and creative business leadership techniques through interactive conversations, case studies, and executive-level engagements.

Paris Graduate School’s certification enhanced the program’s legitimacy and status by providing attendees with internationally recognised executive development credentials. The Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce & Industry thanked the faculty members, institutional partners, and supporting organisations whose contributions helped make the initiative a huge success.

Beyond executive education, the business mission was as vital in strengthening commercial connections between France and Nigeria.

A key highlight of the visit was a strategic meeting with CIAN (Conseil Français des Investisseurs en Afrique), one of France’s most powerful private-sector organisations that represents companies investing in Africa. CIAN Chairman Étienne Giros, Secretary General Stephen Decam, and CEO Sandrine Sorieul, as well as Business France Africa Desk personnel, welcomed the Nigerian group.

The meeting was a valuable forum for addressing investment potential, economic cooperation, private-sector engagement, and future partnership efforts.

Moses Umoru,

Moses Umoru, representing FNCCI President Guillaume Niarfeix, gave a presentation highlighting the Chamber’s activities, accomplishments, and contributions to improving French-Nigerian economic relations.

According to data presented during the engagement, French investments in Nigeria would total around $4.7 billion by the end of 2025, cementing Nigeria’s status as one of Africa’s most strategic investment destinations. The result was a strong indicator of rising investor confidence and a developing economic tie between the two countries

While the official training sessions were informative, several participants remarked that direct contacts with investors, policymakers, corporate executives, and institutional stakeholders were some of the most impactful moments. These interactions provided participants with firsthand knowledge of developing market trends, investment goals, regulatory developments, and prospects for international collaboration. The collaboration with CIAN was especially beneficial, allowing for open discourse on Africa’s investment landscape and Nigeria’s changing business environment.

During the discussions, CIAN Chairman Étienne Giros reportedly voiced optimism in Nigeria’s long-term economic prospects and urged greater collaboration between the French and Nigerian corporate communities.

The delegation also acknowledged the contributions of organisations such as Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and Business France, as well as the continued support of Laurent Favier, Consul General of France in Lagos, in strengthening commercial ties between France and Nigeria.

Conclusion

The Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s inaugural Executive Paris Leadership Training Program and Business Mission was a resounding success, strengthening business leadership, international cooperation, and economic development.

More crucially, it strengthened the basis of Franco-Nigerian economic relations by opening up new avenues for investment, innovation, and collaboration. The objective exemplifies how corporate organisations can foster meaningful collaboration that benefits firms, industries, and national economies alike. As competition heats up and innovation increases, corporate leaders must maintain worldwide exposure, strategic networks, and global insights.

For the delegates who attended, the week in Paris was a transforming event that built strong ties, yielded vital insights, and paved the way for future collaborations that could impact the next chapter of Franco-Nigerian commercial cooperation.

As Nigeria strives for economic diversification and global competitiveness, initiatives such as the FNCCI Paris Leadership Training Program offer a promising model for the future.
